Growing up in Miami, Jessica Rotenberg was naturally influenced by the vibrant city's deco and unique architecture. Her upbringing was highly mentored by her grandfather a developer and builder who built many of the well-known Miami landmarks. Jessica's appreciation for art, architecture, and design growing up she dreamed and imagine cities and spaces while constantly re-designing her bedroom, moving her furniture around monthly.
Jessica's foundation in architecture started when she was accepted into the prestigious 5-year professional degree in Architecture at the University of Miami and continued to flourish while achieving Masters of Architectural Science at Ryerson University. They were a perfect balance of traditional, modern, and sustainable design; teaching her that you need to learn the rules of traditional architecture in order to break them in modern design. Her love for architecture and design was fostered from living in Paris, New York City, and Tel-Aviv where she was inspired by the mix of art deco, classical, and Bauhaus architecture. Upon moving to Toronto, she worked with developers in their design centre as well as architecture and urban planning firms.
One of her favorite things is seeing the built environment from concept to finish. She took on building her own home with a very thorough and hands on approach. No detail was left out or not considered while designing and building. Learning, the most beautiful parts of the home are the unique ones that are in a result from problem solving, creativity needed and created from circumstance. Forcing her to push your limits and think in beautifully unique ways.
Architectural consulting resulted from experience. Through the building process she was continuously asked from friends for her expert advice, those friends referred her to other friends also wanting guidance and so on. What started off as a hobby quickly took over a large part of her extra time. At that point she realized, people need this type of service and there are not many others experienced enough to help.
Every project is an opportunity for Jessica to help other’s love their own design and helping others remove the burdens of the building process.
